Bio.

Alex is a London-based photojournalist whose work documents the resolve of the human spirit in the face of war and hardship. After spending several years freelancing in Kenya, DRC and South Sudan for AFP, Alex photographed the war in Nagorno-Karabakh for Getty Images. Following that, he dedicated himself to documenting the resistance to Myanmar’s 2021 military coup, embedding with rebel groups in several of the country’s ethnic minority states over the course of a year.

Most recently he has been documenting the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Alex’s work has been published by Al Jazeera, BBC, Bloomberg, ELLE, El Pais, Foreign Policy, The Guardian, Internazionale, Le Figaro, Le Monde, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Times, Vanity Fair, VICE, The Washington Post and WIRED. Alex also collaborates with UN and NGO agencies that include Greenpeace, IOM, Medair, MSF, NRC, UNICEF, War Child and WFP.

Alex also teaches photography workshops with the Leica Akademie in London.
